HD DVD Replication & Blu-ray Replication just got cheaper
PacificDisc, the pioneers of Demystifying DVD Replication™, today announced that it would lower the minimum quantity order size for HD-DVD replication or Blu-ray replication from 5,000 discs to just 1,000 discs. Up until today the smallest number of High Definition (Hi-Def) discs you could order was 5,000, but this was proving too much for many independent filmmakers on limited budgets.
(PRWEB) August 21st, 2007 -- PacificDisc, the pioneers of Demystifying DVD Replication™, today announced pricing for as few as 1,000 single or dual layered HD-DVDs, or single layered Blu-ray discs, making cost-to-entry more affordable than ever.
"We had been hearing the same thing from many of our customers for the past year. Trying to release a new Hi-Def project was just too expensive for many and 5,000 discs was just too many discs to invest in", said Morris Anderson, President and Cofounder of PacificDisc. "We are excited to finally be able to offer lower quantities, as it opens up these compelling formats, rich in features to the entire market - not just the big fish."
Although mastering fees will apply on any new orders smaller than 10,000 discs pricing for 1,000 bulk HD discs are as follows:

HD DVD Replication and Blu-ray Replication requires slightly different preparation. A producer cannot simply output their HD project to a DVD-R master and send it in for HiDef replication, as they would be standard DVD5 replication. Certain preparations would include mastering to a hard drive (firewire), or DLT III or IV cassette as a CMF fileset. This differs from the requirements for replicating DVD5 or DVD9 discs from ISO images or other filesets commonly output by consumer level software applications.
"Although HD authoring, or preparing the assets for HD replication can be tricky, requiring specialized software and knowledge, PacificDisc has both and can help steer a newbie through the entire project", says David Patterson, Director of the Mastering Group at PacificDisc. "We have had many projects come through our department in the past 18-months and each one has taught my team something new. We can pass this experience onto our clients and make sure their project is prepared the correct way the first time around".
"We have continued to refine our process to make HD DVD Replication & Blu-ray Replication as painless and easy to understand as possible", continues Morris Anderson, President and Cofounder of PacificDisc. "There is a lot of confusion in this space, not helped by some of the misleading information the average person can find online. PacificDisc specializes in those filmmakers, or corporate clients who may have limited budgets and tolerance for time wasting".
